We moved twice again. That has brought me up to 8 times in less than three years. We might move again in April. It is not an excuse for abandoning the blog for nearly a year, but that is all that I will say on the matter.
Since Last we met!
I've worked at a Law Firm, a Brewery, and a Bookstore over the past 11 months. Working all over the place is incredibly rewarding (Helping people! Beer! Books!) Also, it has served as excellent fodder.
I've now read a fair amount of Shirley Jackson. We Have Always Lived in the Castle was my favourite. Unsettling, and featuring a cat you are never quite sure is really real or not.
One of my short stories will be published by CBAY Publishing, a small print out of Texas. More on that as it comes along.
I purchased a bonsai tree and dubbed it Herman. Herman then perished in the winter chill. I have procured a pair of cats, Newton and Ripley. They are amazing and fuzzy, although Ripley mostly only comes out at night. Mostly.
I've been collaborating with the incredibly talented Breanna Langley on getting Lancaster Falls out of the blue and into the black-and-white. I'm really excited for launch! Think scary, think funny, think Orbs of Bitter Truths, think family secrets, think alternate-world Canada, think Old Lies and New Truths, think Reuben Sandwiches!
And finally my friend, the uber talented Jacquelyn Benson, has a new novel coming out this summer. The description has the words "frustrated suffragett," "archaeologist," "Mayan civilization," and "disgraced professor" in the blurb; I don't think I could trust anyone who didn't want to read this.
