The trouble with reading lists, so far as I've always known, is that they never end. This is also a perk, but if there is one thing that reading does it's put a person in the way of two minds.
Secret Benefits of Unread Book Piles:
1) Distinct tables/stands always within reach
2) Building material. A tiny fort of books could soon be yours
3) Suspended sense of something good to come
4) Visiting friends begin to mistake you for eccentric professor/wizard
Noted Disadvantages of Unread Books:
1) Deep, deep shame
So, I'm making a REAL LIST. Because I'm very fond of lists. I'll keep adding to it, except for the times I scratch something out (which will be progress).
I feel like if I publish it here I will be more compelled to work my way through my existing pile and not just obsessively title hoard, like a glorious, befreckled book dragon. It's time to put the really excellent viewing time of Garfunkle and Oates and Parks and Recs on the back burner and return to hours of vividly hallucinating whilst staring at ink-stamped dead trees.
